Bring on the bloggers…

For many years people have been grousing about a lack of investigative reporting in the blogosphere.  I myself have been concerned about the fate of investigative reporting because I have seen a few stories where either bloggers or traditional reporters actually got down and dirty and started digging if things didn't smell right.

Well here is a case where two bloggers managed to bring a story to life.

The Buffalo Beast - a.k.a. fake David Koch:

First and most celebrated we have Ian Murphy of the BuffaloBeast.com who managed to get Scott Walker to do more in self-revelation by pretending to be David Koch than he could of pretending he was a Wisconsin state senator.   A job well done - and I understand that your site got overloaded with traffic for a couple of days….AH!  The price of instant fame!

Gin - Tacos- and no-bid contracts:

The other less celebrated revelation came the day before from a blog known as GinAndTacos.com who revealed some very illuminating sections from the rest of Governor Scott Walkers legislative agenda by actually reading the bill.  In it were sections pertaining to no-bid contracts - you know - the same little hooks that brought a sea of red ink to the Iraqi war during the Bush Administration.  Hmmm - I wonder if Donald Koch was going to be one of the recipients of these no-bid contracts.  Rumor has it - he has energy interests in the state.  The post was featured on "The Last Word" with Lawrence O'Donnell the day before the Ian Murphy prank took place.

All Hail the Bloggers!

Although this site is in its infancy, I've been a blogger in the real estate industry since 2007.  So although this is not a professional blog, I do have one and consider myself to be a semi-professional blogger.  So as such, I want to congratulate these two bloggers for the splendid work that they have done in revealing the "true" Scott Walker and pointing out for us the diabolical nature of the Tea Party movement at its plutocratic best.

Note From Cletis: The recall petitions have begun in Wisconsin. Democrats need to successfully recall only three Republicans to gain control of the state senate and thereby temporarily put an end to this madness initiated by Governor Hosni Walker. Since I can't get up there to collect signatures, I made a contribution. Help in any way you can. It's time to take our country back.

  3. Thanks Celtis - I am recovered, but I had an "emeregency" hosting issue at my other blog...Since its where my income is - I had to concentrate my efforts there for a bit. I'm also trying to upgrade this one - so it has a cleaner look. I did hosting on host-gator etc. And now have to install everything I want and upgrade the skin on it. Once I'm done with all of that i can have more fun with the writing.
